How to Play Idiot
You play cards onto a central pile, which must be equal to or higher than the top card. Keep your hand topped up to three from the deck until it runs out, then play your face-up and face-down table cards.
Special cards
- A 2 resets the pile — anything can be played on top next.
- A 5 reverses the demand, so the next card must be equal or lower.
- A 10 burns the pile, clearing it and giving you a fresh lead.
- Four of the same rank in a row also clears the pile.
Getting stuck
If you can't play, you pick up the whole pile. You can also play more than one card of the same rank at once.
Strategy & Tips
- Save your special cards (2, 5, 10) for when you're truly stuck or to dodge a big pile.
- Shed high cards early so you're not stuck with them late.
- Play multiples together to thin your hand quickly.
