Play Switch Online — Free Card Game
Switch — also known as Jack Changes — is the lively shedding game: match the pile by suit or rank, fire off power cards to make opponents draw, skip, reverse, or swap hands, and race to empty your hand first. It's basically Crazy Eights with a normal deck. Play Switch free against three opponents in your browser.
How to Play Switch
Each player starts with seven cards. On your turn, play a card that matches the suit or rank of the top of the pile — for example, on a 5 of spades you can play any spade or any 5. If you can't play, you draw one card and your turn ends.
Power cards
- 2 — the next player draws two cards (stackable: a 2 on a 2 makes it four, and so on).
- 7 — dump the suit: after a 7 you may play more cards of that same suit in the same turn.
- 8 — the next player misses a turn.
- 10 — reverses the direction of play.
- Ace — play it on anything and choose the new suit.
- Black Jack — the next player draws five; a Red Jack cancels it.
- Black Queen — swap your whole hand with the next player.
Strategy & Tips
- Hold your power cards for the right moment — a 2 or Black Jack lands hardest when an opponent is low on cards.
- Keep an Ace in reserve; it gets you out of a suit you can't match (just remember it can't be your last card).
- Save a Red Jack to cancel an incoming Black Jack draw.
- Use a Black Queen to dump a big hand onto the player to your left.
- Play multiple same-rank cards together to thin your hand quickly.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you win at Switch?
Be the first to get rid of all your cards. An Ace can never be your last card — if it is, you draw a card and keep playing.
What are the power cards?
2 (draw two, stackable), 7 (dump suit), 8 (skip), 10 (reverse), Ace (choose suit), Black Jack (draw five), Red Jack (cancels a Black Jack), and Black Queen (swap hands with the next player).
What happens if I can't play?
You draw one card and your turn ends. If a draw stack from 2s or Black Jacks is pending, you draw that many unless you can stack or cancel it.
Is Switch free to play?
Yes — free, with no sign-up or download, against three computer players.
