Play Farkle Online — Free Dice Game
Farkle is the classic push-your-luck dice game: roll six dice, set aside the scoring ones, and decide whether to bank your points or risk it all for more. Play Farkle free in your browser — no sign-up, no download, on desktop or mobile.
How to Play Farkle
On your turn you roll all six dice. After every roll you must set aside at least one scoring die, then choose to either bank the points you have earned or roll the remaining dice again for more.
Scoring
- Single 1 = 100 points · single 5 = 50 points
- Three 1s = 1,000 · three of a kind (2–6) = the number × 100 (e.g. three 4s = 400)
- Four of a kind = 1,000 · five of a kind = 2,000 · six of a kind = 3,000
- Three pairs = 1,500 · a full run 1–2–3–4–5–6 = 2,500
All dice in a meld must come from the same roll — you can’t combine a die set aside earlier with a new one. If a roll produces no scoring dice at all you have farkled and lose every unbanked point from that turn.
Hot dice
If all six dice score in a single turn you have “hot dice” and may roll all six again, keeping the points already earned. The first player to bank 10,000 points wins.
Strategy & Tips
- Mind the dice count. With four, five, or six dice still live, the odds of farkling are low — keep rolling. With only one or two dice left, the risk climbs fast.
- Bank earlier than feels comfortable. A common rule of thumb is to bank once you’ve gathered 300–500 points on a small number of remaining dice.
- Chase hot dice when it’s safe. Clearing all six dice resets you to a fresh roll of six — one of the best ways to build a huge turn.
- You only have to set aside one die. You don’t have to keep every scoring die — sometimes banking a single 1 and re-rolling five dice beats locking away a weak 5.
- Play the scoreboard. Push harder when you’re behind and play it safe when you’re ahead and close to 10,000.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Farkle?
A Farkle is a roll with no scoring dice. When it happens your turn ends immediately and you lose any points you hadn’t yet banked that turn.
What score do you need to win?
The game ends when a player banks 10,000 or more points. Because you choose when to bank, you can keep extending a lead before locking in the win.
What are hot dice?
If all six dice form scoring melds in one turn, you may pick them all up and roll again while keeping the points already earned.
Is Farkle free to play here?
