How to Play Spider
Spider deals two decks across ten columns. You build cards down in rank regardless of suit, but only a full King-to-Ace run in a single suit is removed from the table.
Moving cards
- Place a card on any card one rank higher (a 7 on an 8 of any suit).
- Move an ordered same-suit run together as a unit.
- Any card or run can be moved onto an empty column.
- When you run out of moves, click the stock to deal one card to every column — but only when no column is empty.
Difficulty
One suit is the gentlest introduction, two suits is a genuine challenge, and four suits is for experts. Switch suit count from the toolbar.
Strategy & Tips
- Build in suit whenever you can — only same-suit runs clear, so mixing suits creates work you'll have to undo.
- Empty a column as early as possible; it's the most flexible space on the board.
- Expose and turn face-down cards before you deal a new row from the stock.
- Make every possible move before dealing — a fresh row often blocks tidy runs.
